BattleStar Galactica spoilers

Well, I finished the DVDs of the revisioning of that 70s show, Battlestar Galactica. When I started, I wrote a blog entry saying the characters were reminiscent of some SciFi show characters, i.e. Gaius Baltar reminded me of Dr. Bashir from Star Trek DS9.

The big ending of the series wrapped up the loose threads, and was reported to be "the most satisfying series end ever." The ending was good, but I thought, "We've seen this before." It reminded me of the Matrix. Technology vs. humanity, and the War ends in uneasy truce. Humans go on to a new life, with a chance to live--really live. Humans get a re-set.

In this case, the Galacitcans decide to "make their garden grow" and go back to nature. I kept thinking of Arthur Dent with a bone in his beard.

The "angels" revelation makes me want to go back and watch from the beginning, almost. Maybe someday.

I think I'll have to think more about the whole thing. Worthwhile? We'll see.
